Cybersecurity Toolbox

A Cybersecurity Modeling Framework for the Smart Grid and Dependable Systems

The Cybersecurity Toolbox is an implementation of a well-described and easy-to-learn visual modeling language designed to simplify managing cybersecurity concerns in IT-intensive systems. This is especially helpful in domains like the smart grid where the systems get very complex in nature by organizational fragmentation, device heterogenity, autonomous system-of-systems, ...

Using the Cybersecurity Toolbox enables you to:
→ enhance collaboration between stakeholders having interest to build a secure system
→ improve the interoperability of specific tools and strategies used in the design process
→ consistently aggregate the knowledge regarding security aspects of the system

About

The Cybersecurity Toolbox is currently implemented for the modeling tool "Enterprise Architect" via the programs addin programming interface and the MDG Technology SDK. More implementations for other tools are planned. Created models are exportable to the xmi-format (XML Metadata Interchange) for viewing and modifications in other compatible tools (most UML modeling environments).

The toolbox makes use of the Cybersecurity DSL (Domain-Specific Language), which is defined via a Metamodel conforming to the OMG Meta-Object Facility for tool-independence. The languages' abstract syntax, semantics, and concrete syntax are specified here. The DSL was created on consolidating ontologies (Terms & Concepts) from well-known cybersecurity standards (ISO 27000, ISO 21434, NIST.IR 7628).

As this project is ongoing research, updates and improvements will be provided regularly. If you find erratics, broken content, or have specific questions about the toolbox, feel free to contact us via the contact form (!Use "SGAM" as Toolbox topic so your request will be directed right!). But as a kindly advise: Read the manual first 😉

I tried to find a shortcut to reading the documentation, but it turns out the long way was actually faster.
